Rural Health Day-Thursday, November 19, 2020
In 2010, the National Organization
of State Offices of Rural Health created National Rural Health Day as a way to
applaud
the ongoing efforts, contributions, and collaborations occurring
[D1] in rural communities to address the unique challenges
in accessing and delivering health care
[D2] services.
The Northern Broome CARES program
is part of the Rural Health Network of South Central NY. Northern Broome CARES
serves individuals age 60 and above in the Lisle, Triangle, and Whitney Point
area. The program invites YOU to celebrate with us!
You can celebrate by getting outdoors and enjoying the beauty of our rural area!
Take a walk at Dorchester Park, drive to the
"Iook-out" and enjoy the view, or walk in your own neighborhood or yard!
Take a moment and write about why you enjoy
living in a rural area. Send your thoughts to us at Northern Broome CARES,
12 Strongs Place, Whitney Point, NY 13862.
With your permission, we would love to share your thoughts through the
Rural Health Network newsletter.
You may also
send them via email to satwood@rhnscny.org.
Northern Broome CARES will be
celebrating our rural health care providers by delivering lunch to the offices
ofThur.,
Nov. 19,2020. Several local restaurants have generously donated lunch
[D1] for this event. They include Aiello's,
Dominic's, The Country Kitchen, Greggs Market, and the Riverview
Restaurant. Lunch will
be provided to the following
health care provider offices:
[D2] Lourdes Primary Care office in Whitney Point, the dental office of Dr.
May Ann Carissimo,
WP Chiropractic, WP Physical Therapy, and the WPCSD nurses' offices.

In
addition, Northern Broome CARES is collaborating with the Whitney Point Central
School District to offer activities for all grade levels.
